Ellen Reid SOUNDWALK is a free, GPS-enabled work of public art that uses music to illuminate the natural environment. Created by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and sound artist Ellen Reid, the experience is guided by the listener: the path you choose dictates the music you hear, and no two visits will be exactly the same.

After installing the free app and downloading the Lincoln Center & Central Park SOUNDWALK, participants can explore the Lincoln Center Campus and Central Park's entire 840 acres (connected via both 63rd St and Broadway) triggering musical cells that were carefully crafted to harmonize with the park's landscape.

SOUNDWALK will be available in Lincoln Center and Central Park free of charge through 2026.

Land Acknowledgement
The team behind SOUNDWALK gratefully acknowledges that, as we gather in Central Park, we are on the lands of the Lenape. Native communities have remained present and have thrived here in Mannahatta in spite of centuries of settler colonial violence perpetrated against their lives and livelihoods. We recognize and respect the historical Indigenous inhabitants of this land, as well as Native communities across the Americas.
